The food rivals anything found in the city, and the service is outstanding!

Great little place in Butler, MO. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area. I had a great pork tenderloin sandwich for lunch. Service was excellent, I kept my server busy refilling my drink.

Staff is polite and courteous. Everything we ordered was very good. Highly recommend the Pub Chicken! Solid beer list with a few excellent crafts. This restaurant is clean, decorated nicely, and the food is reasonably priced. If you're in Butler, highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Best food in town with hometown atmosphere and great service

Their tenderloins are delicious! They are not as big as some I've had, but still bigger than the bun! About 2 inches around the bun on all sides! And the bun... Very good! Seeded, peppered bun with lots of flavor! I also had their sweet potato fries which were yummy! They have honey to dip them in, if you ask, which I did. Love, love, love them! Very friendly and quaint place! Love their patriotic decor! Will definitely be going back!

My husband and I decided to try the Union. We travel I-49 frequently and didn't want to eat at a chain restaurant. We loved the atmosphere. As we ate my husband commented that he liked when old buildings were brought back to life. The wait staff was very friendly and checked on us just the right amount. The food was delicious, but I need to warn you to save room for dessert. We shared a chocolate cheese cake. We will definitely stop again.

Food was fast, hot and the portions were large. If you're near Butler stop by for sure.

GREAT FOOD!! Small quaint, fun bar in downtown Butler, MO. A cute tiny town with so much character. We met friends of our for lunch there on our way to skydive and I am glad we did. We got there early so we took a stroll around the court house. Simply amazing.

Outstanding atmosphere, service, and food. I give this eatery/pub a BIG thumbs up! Love their guacamole dip...good and chunky! Also love the size of their dinners. Good Job Union!

Best French toast I've ever had!! Boyfriend had the chicken and waffle also amazing!!! We came up from Lee's Summit to skydive and googled a place to stop and get breakfast and was just blow away by the food!!

Ordered the smoked prime rib to go tonight it rocked! If your a salad eater they have the best salad in town, always super fresh.

Friendly wait staff and decent food (though a little bland). Food took a very long time to arrive, but that might have been an anomaly looking at the other reviews.

Lunch while photographing court houses on Saturday afternoon at the Union Restaurant and Public house across the street from the Bates County, Mo Courthouse. Best chicken and waffles--ever. They brought syrup for the waffles, but that would have been gilding the lily.

Delicious food, clean facility, fun decor, very friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Saturday During Alumni weekend you had an excellent buffet.But... Your service was dreadful!Right classmates of 1974 were on the east side. It took 20 minutes before we finally received iced water.30 minutes before we received coffee or tea. THAT WAS ORDERED AS SOON AS WE SAT DOWN AT 8:30.A couple order from the menu, it took ONE FULL HOUR, to have their order delivered!A asked for jelly for 45 minutes before it FINALLY was brought to the table.We saw 3 different waitresses, durring the 2 1/2 hours we were there.You KNEW you would be busy that morning. You should have had different sections for each waitress.It was a mess!Get organized. Use a tray to deliver all the waters. And the same with coffee. Two or three at St time was a train wreck.GET ORGANIZED !

Many people go here for lunch during the week. Took forever for the food to come out and one waitress brought out the wrong food and actually left one plate at our table. I was very disappointed in how long it took for our food to come out and not everyone's good came out together.

Best mac n cheese ever! And the chicken fried chicken was amazing! Green beans tasted microwaved, but everything else was perfect! There was no wait at all, and the service was amazing! Our drinks never ran out, and the waitress made sure to bring my 2 year old some crayons which he loved! Plus, the bathroom had a super cool sink!

Food was very good. Presentation was excellent. Service was good. The glazed green beans were cold and raw. Not to my taste and only reason I am not giving 5 stars

Wonderful food, the fried chicken was perfect, real potatoes, great gravy, fresh green beans! They even fried fresh chicken for me and my friend very close to the kitchen closing time! Nice people, casual atmosphere.

Had lunch at The Union today with my BFF. I had the meatloaf special and she had the meatball sub special. Both were outstanding as usual. Clean restaurant and friendly service. Can't wait to go back!

Lunch time visit. Somewhat busy, but no wait. Clean with a contemporary look/feel. Good prompt, friendly service. Had the pulled pork sandwich (the special), was on point. Apple dumpling was great too. Just wish more desert was prepared so I didn't have to share ;)

Stopped here on our way from KC to JoMO. Delightful restaurant on the square. Food definitely exceeded our expectations...I hot the schnitzel and it was huge. Ate way too much as it was fantastic! Husband ordered the prime rib special...wow. Service was really good and we felt that the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. It may be our new go to dinner place on our way back from KC. Have recommended it to several friends!

Great food, but not a big selection to choose from. Had to wait almost an hour for our food. Was extremely busy. Has very bad acoustics in restaurant and is very noisy.

Just a short distance off of interstate and is well worth the stop. We enjoyed a nice breakfast on our way back to Iowa!Randy's Breakfast Pie and a Breakfast Burrito hit the spot.
